Are you looking for a great summer camp program for your Scouts?

If you are, you may want to consider one of the three summer program camps that Saskatchewan has to offer. These three different camps are in three different areas of the province and each camp has been in operation for the past 30 to 40 years. All of the camps have a progressive 5 to 7 year program and the Directors of these programs are almost all graduates of the various programs. The dates vary with Pianue (located in Southeast Saskatchewan) and Wilderness Rendezvous (located in Southwest Saskatchewan) running the 1st week in July and Campanoe Challenge (located in East central Saskatchewan) taking place the last week in July. All three of the camps offer 8 day programs and wilderness camping experience for your youth in some of the most scenic areas of Saskatchewan.

Each of the Camps will instruct youth as well as leaders to build their outdoor skills in a safe and comfortable environment. The Camps teach scouting values and a unique appreciation for Mother Nature in all her grandeur, as well as development of their leadership skills. These three camps offer a wide range of activities that will appeal to all our Scouting youth.

Campanoe Challenge (CC) is located in Good Spirit Provincial Park. This is primarily a water-based program that goes from peaceful lake to river to shooting rapids on the Churchill River system in Northern Saskatchewan. Experience outdoor adventure at its finest in this beautiful, pristine and rugged environment. Perfect your paddling skills while working as a team to navigate the path of the voyageurs on the Churchill River.

Camp Pianue is located in Moose Mountain Provincial Park.  This is a water and a land based program that combines overnight lightweight hiking, backpacking, canoeing and pioneering skills and projects. Experience the beauty of the outdoors in this well-treed campground in one of Saskatchewan’s first provincial parks. Poplar and birch trees and a hilly topography provide ideal conditions for outdoor adventure activities, while the lake provides an ideal environment for paddling fun.

Wilderness Rendezvous (WR) is located in the West Block of the Cypress Hills Provincial Park. This is a land-based backpacking and orienteering program with basic hikes of 8 – 10 km, progressing to a 50 km trip in two provinces. The spectacular Cypress Hills Provincial Park offers some of the most breathtaking outdoor scenes in the southern part of the province, such as the Conglomerate Cliffs and a spectacular outdoor night sky.

All of the programs are based on Traditional Scouting values, which focus on teamwork, trust, honesty, support, and friendship. Camping is done in the way that Baden Powell envisioned it many years ago, complete with the smell of wood smoke, campfires and camaraderie. Scout camps offer the true outdoor experience that is rarely found in our modern age, while creating memories and skills that last for a lifetime.
