Moose Mountain Provincial Park - Gillis Lake
Imagine if you will – Awaken to the call of the loon, and see the mist slowly rise off the lake to greet the sun as it peeks over the trees. You watch a hawk make lazy circles in the new morning sky, you may see a deer, elk or moose along the shore or hear a tree fall that a beaver has cut down! After breakfast, you shoulder your backpack for a day of adventure . . .. . . hike with map and compass or GPS over wooded hills, through meadows filled with wildflowers…. . . In your canoe feel the rush of skimming softly across a placid lake as your flashing paddle dips into the water, silently approaching beaver and other wild life along the shore.. . . . at days end; with your newfound friends, setting up your camp, and reflecting on your experience in the warm glow of a campfire….. watch the stars and hear the howl of a distant coyote as you snuggle into your sleeping bag . . . . now, if it wasn’t for that one mosquito!!

This Traditional Scout Camp in the form of a mini Jamboree comes with real campfire programs.  Open wood burning fires for cooking and sitting around in your own camp site are encouraged.
