Attention all Vikings and Vikings in training you are invited to the 1st pilot butte Viking all sections invitational camp. The camp will run from june 9,10 and 11/2017 at echo valley provincial park. The cost is $15 per youth. Registration ends June 1 with a later charge of 5 dollars for any youth registered after. your day will consists of Viking training to prepare your self for the final battle.

Knots and lashings. (For this one I suggest we have a relay, we will need a stick, a can, a bucket, and some good lashings to hold it all together)

Now we need more activities /events for the youth to do. Any ideas?

Campanoe Challenge

Campanoe Challenge (CC) is a nine day, six year progressive canoeing camp for members of Scouts Canada. CC is a family based camp for youth of all ages. CC is a non-profit organization focused on providing affordable rates and a program designed to promote youths developmental skills as well as camping and canoeing. CC is a place where you can meet new friends and spend time with old ones.

Canoe instruction, trip preparation, hiking tips, compass, lashing and pioneering skills.

Water fights, Obstackle Course, family BBQ, campfire and Scouts Own

Progressive programs are designed to advance canoeing skills yearly. Participants also experience different geographical areas depending on their program year. For example:

The remote setting for Camp Pi-Anue is the shore of scenic Gilles Lake in the north central area of Moose Mountain Provincial Park in Southeast Saskatchewan.  Kicked-off with an informal campfire, Pi-Anue is a no trace, long-term (9 day) camp June 30th to July 9th, 2017 inclusive; combining overnight lightweight backpack hiking / canoeing, plus pioneering skills and projects.

We understand that this might be your child’s first experience away from home.

Join other Wascappelle Area youth and Scouters for our annual Jamboree on the Trail (JOTT) where we will complete a morning hike around Wascana Lake and finish the event with a picnic lunch.

We ask that youth and Scouters wear their uniforms, dress appropriately for the weather and bring drinking water for the hike.  We are also encouraging groups to bring Section and/or Group flags for the hike.  Each group will be responsible to bring enough Scouters to meet the youth/Scouter ratio.

The woodbins need filling, and the woodbin fairies are all busy that weekend so if you want some firewood to burn at your next camp come out and help, or else plan on collecting firewood as an activity at your next camp.
